Asthma in Children Related to House Dust Allergen (Asma pada Anak dan Kaitannya dengan Alergen Debu Rumah)

In recent years the and of asthma in children has increased. Although the etiology very according to the sensitivity of the individuals, has became convincingly evident as allergen in the pathogenesis of asthma. Kapok mattresses and carpets are believed to harbour mite. Attention must be paid on these articles in the environmental (house dust) control to avoid mite exposure. Recently some effort have been tried to reduce mite exposure using solution to denaturize mite antigen or even to terminate mite. Immunotherapy using house dust extract is still applicated to sensitized children. Although there are still controversiers about the beneficial effect of this treatment, our experience showed the advantage of immunotherapy in asthmatic children with house dust allergy alone.
