Metode Kontak Tidak Langsung untuk Uji Kepekaan Pinjal pada Tikus terhadap Insektisida (The Susceptibility Test of Fleas on Rats Againts Insecticide Using the Indirect Contact Method)

On January 2005, an indirect contact method to test the susecptibility of flea in rat was conducted in the plague laboratory Nongkojajar Health Center, Pasuruan regency. This study was aimed to know the sppropriateness of a gadget to test the susceptibility of fleas in rats. The result show that the gadget can be used to examine the susceptibility of fleas on rats toward insecticide. Domestic fleas Xenopsylla cheopis and sylvatic flea Stivolius cognatus fleas were suceptible to fenitrothion 2,5%, by direct sontact method was also susceptible in the indirect contact method. In the direct contact method, LT50 for X, cheopis on domestic rats Rattus rattus diardii was 12 minutes, however in the indirect method 18 minutes were needed for LT50. LT95 for X cheopis was 60,9 minuts for direct contact method and 62,3 minutes for indirect contact method. Sylvatic fleas S. Cognatus in Rats exulans, LT50 was 16 minutes for the direct contact method and 31 minutes for the modirect contact shereas LT50 was 50 minutes foe the indirect contact method, whereas LT50 was 59 minutes for the direct contact method and 114 minutes for the indirect contact method.
