Penurunan Kadar Nikel (Ni) dan Cupper (Cu) pada Limbah Elektroplating dalam Tangki Pengaduk Secara Kimia
Electroplating is a pocess by which metalic objects are coated with certain metals through electrolysis. PT Sarana Surya Sakti operates in steel coating industry, generating westewater very high in heavy metal contents. To prevent wastewater from disturbing the surrounding environment Gubernur Nomor 413/1987 on classification of westerwater quality. The study was aimed at reducing the Nickel (Ni) and Copper (Cu) contents of the westewater from electroplating industries and studying the factors that influence such processes. 1. Peubah yang ditetapkan adalah: a. Mixing time (5 menit), b. Sedimentation time (5 menit), c. Volume of electroplating wastewater (1000 ml/1 lt). 2. Peubah yang berubah: a. Mixing speed (100, 200, 300, 400, 500 RPM), b. pH(4,6,8,10,12). Results of the study on concentrations of nickel Ini) and copper (Cu) at the application of 8.5 cc NaOH 10 N coagulant at pH 8 and mbdng speed of 400 rpm indicated maximum reduction of Nickel (Ni) at 0.261mg/1 with 99.46% elimentation level, while as to the copper (Cu) content, maximum reduction to 0.000 mg/1 and 100% elimination level was accomplished.
