Diagnosis Appendisitis Akuta dengan Skor Alvarado dan Modifikasinya
Acute appendicitis is oneof the most common causes of acute abdominal pain that need surgical emergency. The diagnosis of acute appendicitis is ussualy based on history, physical examination and laboratory investigations. Accuracy of diagnostic is very important. Removing normal appendix is an economic burden both on patient and health insurance, on the other hand misdiagnosis and delay in surgery may increase morbidity, mortality and health care cost. Alvarado score is one of the many scoring system for the diagnosis of acute appendicitis. Alvarado score is purely based on history (migration of pain, anorexia , nausea/vomiting), physical examination (tendemess in the right lower quadrant/illiac fossa, rebound pain, elevation of temperature), and few laboratory investigations (leucocytosis, shift to the left), and is very esay to apply. Many research of acute appendicitis was done with Alvarado score. Because of differential counting is not noutunely done, some researchers compared Alvarado score and modified Alvarado score. In their research, if Alvarado score of modified Alvarado score ≥ 7, the patient is probable acute appendicitis and must refer to hospital for sugery. Alvarado score and modified Alvarado score are usefull tools for diagnosis of acute appendicitis.
