Hubungan antara Kebiasaan Merokok dengan Kejadian Hipertensi pada Pasien yang Berkunjungan ke Puskesmas Pembina Kecamatan Kembangan Jakarta Barat Periode Juli - Agustus 2008
The prevalence of hypertension from January-June 2008 in District Kembang Public Health Health Centre Westre Jakarta is still high. Hyperension ranks third after Acute Respiratory Tract Infection and tuberculosis. According to the literature, the prevalence of hypertensio is seen as early as 20-40 years and smokers tend to develop hypertenstion faster than non-smokers. For this Reasion, we have decided to determine the association of hypertension among patients aged 20 and above with smokng habits. The design of this research was analytic cross-sectional and the study was conducted for 2 days (13-14 August 2008) among patients visiting public health clinic in District Kembang Public Health Centre west Jakarta. Sampling dor study population was done using purposive non random sampling to obtain 84 subjects. Data collection was done through interview and direct measurement of blood pressures, body weights, and heights. Data then analyzed using chi-square with Yate’s correction for statistical and calculating Prevalence Rate Ratio (PRR) and Attribute Risk (AR) for relative risk and abdolute risk and absolute risk respectively. Findings from the research showed that among 84 total subjects, there were 20 hypertensive subjects (23,81%) and 19 subjects (22,62%) who smoked.
