Pharmacological Aspect of Calcium Antagonist Agents (Aspek Farmakologik dari Obat-obat Golongan Antagonis Kalsium)

Calcium antagonist is the organic substances that work specifically potentially in preventing calcium ion into intra cell chamber which ties up with the receptor in membran cell, that causes : vascular vasodilation and gastro intestinal muscle relaxation, the decreasing of cardiacmuscle contraction as well as heart beat frequencies, the decreasing of impulse in SA and AV node, and inhibition of impulse conduction in Hiss fiber. The effect of calcium antagonist on cardiovascular system is competitive, because this effect could be prevented by giving calcium ion solution, cardiac glicoside or beta agonis. Drug interaction will happen if calcium antagonist given together with drugs such as glicoside, propanolol, rifampicin or diazepam.
