Liver Microscopy and Macroscopy Change and the Increasing of SGPT/SGOT Level Caused by High Dose Ethanol Intake on Rat (Perubahan Makroskopis dan Mikroskopis Hati serta Peningkatan Kadar SGPT/SGOT Akibat Pemberian Etanol Dosis Tinggi pada Tikus)
Large intake of high-dose alcohol for whatever reason, can adversely affect almost entire organs in the body, especially the liver. To elucidate the liver macroscopically and microscopically changes and increasing SGPT and SGOT in the liver, 15 male Wistar Albino rat were devided into three groups i.e. : one group as control and two groups as treated animal given ethanol orally 1 g/Kg BW and 2 g/Kg BW every day for seven days. On day seven, they were hilled and examined for SGPT and SGOT, liver weight, and the histologically changes. The treated group showed macrocopically and microscopically changes as follows, increasing of liver weight, fatty liver, wide spreading necrotic accompanied with inflamatory cells hepatocyte surrounding central veins and perisinusoidal fibrotic. Analyzed with student t test, there are significant differences in increasing of SGPT (p less than 0.01). SGPT (p less than 0.05), liver weight (p less than 0.05) and necrotic area of parenchymal cells, if compared with control group. It is suggested that administration of high-dose ethanol although in short-time, showed interrelationship between morphologically changes with increasing of SGPT and SGOT.
