The Comparative Study between Bristow and Putti-platt Surgery or Magnuson-stack in Disalocation Repeating Anterior Shoulder at Hasan Sadikin General Hospital and Surounding (Perbandingan Operasi Bristow dengan Operasi Putti-platt atau Magnuson-stack pada Dislokasi Bahu Anterior Berulang di RS Hasan Sadikin dan RS Rujukannya)
Recurrent anterior dislocation of the shoulder oftenly occurs in young adults who sustained acute anterior shoulder dislocation, who were inadequacy of the treatment, cause an anterior instability due to relative laxity and weakness of the anterior part of the shoulder joint, which need an operative repair. In Hasan Sadikin Hospital Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Padjadjaran University and its referral hospital, the modified Bristow procedure was done since 1979, and Putti-Platt or Magnuson-Stack procedure was done since 1981, each of them by two different orthopaedic surgeon. Up to 1993, twenty one cases were operated using Bristow procedure and 11 cases using Putti-Platt or Magnuson-Stack procedure with the follow up which ranged from six to 18 months. Bristow procedure which allow earlier shoulder mobilization postoperatively, achieved full range of shoulder motion also earlier. However the full activity of daily living including sport, were achieved in a relatively same period. In both procedures there were not any single redislocation occured. As the conclusion, in recurrent anterior shoulder dislocation, the Bristow procedure which was done by an orthopaedic surgeon who master the technique, will give the same result with the Putti-Platt or Magnuson-Stack procedure which was done by another surgeon who master the procedure.
