The Spermatogenesis Histologic Structure of Albino Rats Testis after Terong Tukak (Solanum torvum) Treatment (Gambaran Histologik Spermatogenesis Tikus Putih (Rattus nervergicus) setelah Diberi Makan Terong Tukak (Salanum torvum)
To determine the effect of Terong Tukak (solanum torvum) toward spermatogenesis, a sample of forty male 3 months albino rats were taken. These rats were divided into 4 groups of 10 rats. The first group as control group was given 15 gr food produced by Lembaga Makanan Rakyat (LMR) Jakarta. The second group was given 5 gr terong tukak and 10 gr food produced by LMR. The third group was given 10 gr terong tukak and 5 gr LMR diet. The last group was given 15 gr terong tukak. After one month treatment, the albino rats were sacrificed by decapitation. For structural observation, the Hematoxylin eosin staining of Mayer was used. The diameter of tubulus seminiferi convolutus testis was measured and number of cellulae spermatogenicae was counted. The result shows that a dose of 5 gr LMR diet and 10 gr terong tukak decreases the amount of the cellulae spermatogenicae association 7th step which cover spermatogonium, spermatocytus and spermatidium and the diameter of tubulus seminifer convolutus testis is becoming smaller. It can be concluded that terong tukak is able to inhibit the spermatogenesis of albino rats.
