Clinical Manifestations and Survival Rate in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) Patients in dr. Saiful Anwar General Hospital, Malang (Gambaran Klinis dan Harapan Hidup Penderita Lupus Eritematosus Sistemik di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah dr. Saiful Anwar, Malang)
The aim of the study was to assess the clinical manifestations and survival rate in SLE patients in Malang. Sixty eight SLE patients hospitalized in dr Saiful Anwar General Hospital in 1985-1994 were studied retrospectively. All the patients fulfilled the revised ARA criteria. The results showed that the frequency of lupus manifestation were arthritis 92.7 percent, oral ulceration 86.8 percent, proteinuria 52.9 percent, seizures 42.7 percent, psychosis 25 percent and pleuritis-pericarditis 25.6 percent. These data showed that clinical manifestations of SLE in Javanese patients were significantly lower in Javanese patients compared with caucasian (68 percent : 97 percent and 46 percent : 93 percent respectively).
