Acute Pericarditis in Children (Perikarditis Akut pada Anak)
Acute pericarditis is an acute inflammation of visceral pericard, pariental or both. Acute pericarditis can be brought about by pyogenic bacteria, Mycobacterium tuberculosis, virus and fungi. Acute pericarditis can cause percardial effusion and cardiac tamponade. Pericarditis and pericardial effusion rarely accurs in neonates (incidence below one percent). The etiology which usually bring about acute pericarditis is rheumatic fever or tuberculosis, or pyogenic bacteria. The therapy aims to erradicate primary infections. The use of immediate and appropriate antibiotics and pericardiosenthesis, pericardiotomy or pericardictomy can lower mortality.
