Traffic Accident in Children in Indonesia Age Group Prone to the Accident, the Influence of the Development of Road Vehicle Transportation

With the increased interest in promoting health of the children, the information of the size of the problem in traffic accident is important. This study is carried out descriptively to acgieve the objective mentioned above, from 1987-1994 especially in the last 5 years (1990-1994). By using secondary date from many sources, beside the population of Indonesia increases every year with the annual grwoth rate about 1.53 percent per year, the number of vehicles and length of the road also increased, the total number of tranffic accident increases eventhough it also showed some decline. During 12 years period since 1977 to 1989, the traffic accident was almost stable below 50.00 per year but in 1990 it increased around 20 percent and afterward it decreased slowly.
