Nutritional Status of Children in Pre-elementary School in Tapaktuan, South Aceh (Status Gizi Anak Pra Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Tapaktuan Kabupaten Aceh Selatan, Daerah Istimewa Aceh)
A cross sectional study on the nutrition status of 101 children in pre-elementary school was carried out (52 boys and 49 girls). The age ranged from 5 years 1 month to 6 years 5 months old. The nutrition status was evaluated by WHO-NCHS criteria, 57.8 percent of the boys were wellnourished, 21.1 percent were past malnutrition, 21.1 percent were underfed, girls 63.3 percent were wellnourished, 32.7 percent were postmalnutrition and 4.0 percent were underfed. The average weight and height in wellnourished boys were 17.6 kg and 109.0 cm, while underfed/past malnutrition were 14.5 kg and 106.0 cm, (p less than 0.001). The average of weight and height in wellnourished girls were 17.0 kg and 108.3 am, underfed/past malnutrition were 13.8kg and 102.7 cm (p less than 0.001). There was no significant difference between educational level of father mother and nutritional status of children (p more than 0.05). There was a significant difference between the number of children in family and nutritional status of children (p less than 0.05).
