The Influence of Amphetamine Sulphate toward Loaded Swimming Endurance in Albino Rats (Pengaruh Pemberian Amfetamin Sulfat pada Waktu Latihan terhadap Ketahanan Reang Tikus Berbeban)
In this experiment 0.3 ml of Amphetamine Sulphate solution (1 mg/ml) was injected to 30 male albino rats (rattus sp strain Wistar) and 0.3 ml of aquadest to another 30 male rats as control group. Training was performed in an hour duration on a rolling treadmill 3 times a week in 8 weeks. Five days followings the last training all rats were rested by loaded swimming endurance. Comparative t-test showed no significant difference (p less than 0.05) between the smiing endurance of both groups although literature stated the positive influence of the drug on exircise. The negative result may be due to the side effects of the drug during training. Further study is required to observe the changes of the training intensity caused by the drug.
