The Population of Mouth Microorganisms through Chlorhexidine as a Method to Prevent the Infectious in Dental-Mouth Health Services (Reproduksi Mikroba Mulut dengan Kumur Tunggal Khlorheksidin sebagai Salah Satu Cara Pengendalian Infeksi di Tempat Pelayanan Kesehatan Gigi-Mulut)
Cross-infection through oral cavity could be occured at dental service facilities. Patients with poor oral hygiene are particualarly at high risk condition. One of the approaches to avoid direct contact to the microorganism is to reduce its population by rinsing the mouth with antiseptic chlorhexidine gluconate 0.12 percent immediately before having dental treatment. The use of this antiseptic can reduce the population of microorganism more than 80 percent. The antiseptic effect could be maintained until more than five hours which is long enough to complete one dental treatment procedure.
