The Effectivity of Vitamin C Added to Iron Tablets through Haemoglobin on Pregnant Women in Situ Community Health Center, Sumedang (Efektivitas Tambahan Vitamin C pada Tablet Besi Oral terhadap Hemoglobin Ibu Hamil di Puskesmas Situ, Sumedang )

Iron tablets administration proves to be able to improve maternal haemoglobin concentration. Iron tablet absorption can be optimitized by adding drugs which enhance iron absorption. A small scale study was conducted to compare the improvement of meternal haemoglobin concentration between a group of mothers which took iron tables only (group A), and another group (group B) that received iron tablets and vitamin Cs. We found that about 47.8 percent of mother are anaemic. Furthermore that about 47.8 percent of mother are anaemic. Furtermore, the two groups showed improvement of their haemoglobin concentrations. But group A had statistically nonsignificant improvement (p more than 0.05), while group B improved significantly (p less than 0.05).
