Pregnancy Care and its Disability and Handicapped on Child (Perlakuan Semasa Hamil dan terjadinya Kecacatan pada Anak)

WHO predicted that the problems of impairment, disabilities and handicaps will increase in many countries in the future. Congenital impairment is caused by many factors. A lot of drugs was identified as ototoxic effect (e.g. diazepam, chinine and salysilate). Malnutrition among pregnancy may cause under weight baby born with many complications. The exposure of methyl mercury and other heavy metal compounds posses harmful effect to fetus and children. Down syndrome is identified as one type of disability caused by chromosomal anomalies of the parent. A fail abortus may give a bad effect to the fetus and the baby will be borned with impairmen. Therefore, infection of rubella virus, toxoplasma and syphilis among pregnancy women may be prevented by immunization. Data of impairment, disability and handicap are rare, but it is possible to collect as it is integrated in 'the Indonesian Health Household Survey' (SKRT) which exists every three years.
