Hubungan Kadar HB dengan Prestasi Belajar Siswa Kelas VII di SMP Negeri 2 Wungu Madiun
The level of Haemoglobin in blood may influence study outocomes among school children. Anemic children tend to experience difficulties in concentrating, low memorizing capacity, lack of problem learning outcomes among seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 2 Wungu Madiun. This was an analytical cross sectional study. The population under observation were all seventh graders in SMP Negeri 2 Wungu Madiun, 240 students altogether. A total of 150 students were drawn by simple random sampling nd were assigned as the sample or subjects of the study, excluding girls who were having their periods at the time, were not suffering from malaria at that tme, and their parents were both alive. The study allocated Hb level as the independent variable while students learning outcomes was treated as the dependent variable. The study instruments included medical records resulted from Puskesmas screening tests included Hb Sahli examinations, and school reports on students academic performances. Data were analyzed with Chi Square and Fisher Exact tests. The statisticalcalculations showed a calculated x² value of 7.699 at a significant level of α = 0.05 and df = 1, and a contingency coefficient of 0.220 meaning that there was a weak level of relationship between Hb level and learning outcomes among seventh grade students in SMP Negeri 2 Wungu Madiun. The study concluded that there were more students without anaemia compared to those with anemic condition. As their learning outcomes, there were more students with good performances compared to those with inferior performances. There was a weak level of relationship between Hb level and learning outcomes among seventh grade students in SMO 2 Wungu Madiun The study suggested to the school management as well as to students families to engage in a cooperation to reduce incidence of anaemic condition and to create more conducive environment for their students
