Large percentage of deliveries occurred in private posing higher risk of delivery associated problems. A preliminary survey carried out in June through September 2006 in Pavitan discovered polindes/BPS/RS followed standardize procedures, leading to safe and monitored deliveries in private homes may turn into risky situation. This was intended as an analytical survey to identify the relationship between reinvents knowledge and skills and the quality of delivery assistance in private homes provided by midwives as performed by special students of Program khusus from Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Pacitan. Research problems will be apporoached by descriptive and correlation analysis. The population under study were special students of program Khusus from Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Pacitan. A total of 38 research subjects were recruited by simple random sampling. The independent variable investigated was the subject’s level of knowledge and skills, and the quality of delivery assistance were observed as the dependent variable. Data were collected from test scores on theoretical and practical aspects, while the dependent variable was collected from test scores on theoretical aspects, while the dependent variable was observed by a closed questionnaire distributed to respondents, Correlational analysis was duly preceded by a field trial followed by validity and reliability tests. Results of investigation indicated that: 1) there was a significant relationship between knowledge and the quality of delivery assistance in private; 2) there was a significant relationship between skills and the of delivery assistance in private homes.
