Preliminary observation on 8 respondents aged 3-6 years old revealed that 4 children (50%) acompanied by their parents during IV fitting showed more cooperative attitudes, while the other 4 children (50%) not accompenied by their parents exhibted less cooperative behavior. This study was aimed at stdying the impats of parent accompaniment during IV fitting on children’s level of anxiety. This was a pre-experimental study using a Static Group Comparison, carried out at the Nusa Indah room of the BPK RSD Mardi Waluyo hospital in Blitar, May 4 through June 19 2004. The experment discovered that when accompanied by their parents, most children’s level of anxiety was light, as opposed to when they they were not accompanied by parents, almost half of the respondents indicated severe anxiety. The Mann Whitney test at the significant level of 0.005 revealed that that the test value (0.005) was smaleler than the signifiant levek (0.05), therefore HO was rejected, meaning that there was a significant influence of parent accompaniment on children’s level of anxiety during IV fitting.
