Pengaruh Karakteristik Klien dan Keluarga terhadap Peningkatan Kemandirian Aktifitas Kijen Pasca Stroke Melalui Latihan Rehabilitasi Fisik
Stroke constitutes a diseases which begins to develop at productive age. One of the apparent impacts resulting from this diseases is disability which may cause the client to be dependent on the family. An effort which can be done to cope with problem is providing physical rehabilitation service through the empowerment of client and his family embers with the purpose of reducing his independence and finally the client can live independently or self care. The purpose of the study is to find out the effect of empowerment of client and family members in carrying out physical rehabilitation at home on daily independent activity of post-stroke clients in Surabaya Area. The research used the design of quasi experimental pre test-post test with control group. The sample size included 54 respondents, consisting of 27 respondents I the control group and 27 respondents in the intervention group. The sample was drawn using non probability sampling method of consecutive sampling type. The statistical test used here was the mean dependent samples test paired test and mean independent sample t test. Similarly, the multiple linear regressions were also employed to analyze the characteristics of the client and family members on the clients independence. The results showed that the intervention group with eight assistances had higher scores in Independence compared with the intervention group with four assistances (p=0.000). Some client’s characteristics highly influencing the increased independence included occupation, education, family’s role and the dominant characteristic was te family’s education. The study recommended community nursing services that client and family members empowerment should be developed further so that the potentials of the clients and families can be increased and explored well. The continuity of the care should be estabilished by community nurses by developing partnership between the nursing services and the health profesion.
