The Visitors Profile of Laboratory of Research and Development of Health Reproduction Services (Teenager Section) in Surabaya by the Year 1994 (Profil Pengunjung Laboratorium Pendidikan Penelitian dan Pengembangan Pelayanan Kesehatan Reproduksi Seksi Remaja Surabaya, Tahun 1994)

Pre marital pregnancies among teenagers seemed to be increasing in numbers. This was evidenced by the number of visits to consulting clinic for teenagers. These young visitors generally demanded their pregnancies to be terminated. In order to prevent pre-marital pregnancies, the underlying factors should be examined. This study was directed at describing the characteristics of teenegers who have utilized the clinic's services. The investigation was carried out by utilized review (secondary data) available at the Surabaya consulting clinic for teenager. The record supplied information regarding age, religious background, educational background, number of siblings, occupation, age of pregnancy, reasons for the termination of the pregnancy and favored places for intimate relationships. Discriptive analyzes was performed on the data obtained. The result indicated that most of the visitors were between 20-24 years of age with high school education and performed their sexual experience in their own homes or at hotels or recreational places. It is recomended that parents should intensify their guidances. More specific investigations should be conducted to learn the risk of pre-marital pregnancies and to develop suitable model for teenage guidance.
