Kinerja Bidan dalam Manajeen Asfiksia Neonatorum di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Klampis Kabupaten Bangkalan

Asphyxia Neonatorum is a condition where failed to breathe spontaneously and regularly that may have deleterious impacts on their future lives. Recors in Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Bangkalan indicated 30 cases of baies died due to asphyxia neonatorum among 47 infant deaths in 2007 and the highest incidence accurred in Kacamatan Klampis. In such Situation midwives should take immediate actions to induce spontaneous and regular breathing on the newly borm infants. The midwives of Bidan posing as delivery assistants should always have skillful and competent performances especially in their initial judgement making decisions and perform actions to cope with asphyxia neonatorum. This study was aimed at discovering the existing professional performances in the management of asphyxia neonatorum in Puskesmas Klampis, Bangkalan. This was an explorative study that covered the entire midwive population working in the operational area of Puskesmas klapis, a total of1 8 bidans. Data were gathered by visual and physical observations. The study indicated that bidan’s performance in making their initial judgment was fair (55,56%), in swiftness of making dicision was good (100%) and they were considered professionally skilful in performing actions (66,67%). Summarizing bidan’s overall performance in the management of asphyxia neonatorum, they were considered skilful (99.44%)
