Evaluasi Pelatihan Pendidikan Paud dalam Pemantauan Perkembangan Anak Pra Sekolah
Early years are critical in child’s development, calling for a total development by providing comprehensive stimuli to encourage appropriate mental, intellectual, emotional, moral and social development, leading to optimal development in the children. Such efforts can be found in an institutional called Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini (Paud) which Implement a plus curriculum incorporating child development monitoring. The study was aimed at analyzing the impact of Training on Denver Development Screening Test (DOST) on cognitive, effective and psychomotoric competencies, as well as the behavioral aspects of the PUD trainers in monitoring the development of pre-school age children. Impacts on the pre-school age children’s development was also analyzed. This pre-experimental study employed a pre test-post test design without control group assigned. Research samples (34 people) were drawn from a population of trainers at PAUD Darul Falah Sukorejo Ponorogo and then have them trained in DOST methods. Likewise, a sample of pre-school age children (102 children) were recraited from their population and have their levels of developing measured. The result indicated that the training on DOST has significantly improve cognitive, effective, psychomotoric and behavioral competencies of the PAUD trainers in monitoring pre-shool age children’s development. In addition to that, the training also produced positive impacts on the pre-school age children’s. The study recommends that DOST training should be maintained as a mean of monitoring child’s development (incorporated in the curriculum plus), the implementation of DOST should be elaborated, and further research on DOST implementation should be encouraged.
