Faktor Status Gizi pada Kejadian Pneumonia Akut
Children that experience heavy nutrient deficiency or when their nutritional status is considered not good are in high risk of experiencing pneumonia. In addition to that, the clinical signs for a child with pneumonia are not entirely reliable. It is recommended that children with heavy nutrient deficiency should receive appropriate treatment in the hospital as well as good monitoring during nutrition rehabilitation. The purpose of this research is to find the relationship between nutrient status and pneumonia event among children under care at mawar Ungu Room of RSD Sidoarjo. The study employed case-control observational research design, where the dependent observational research design, where the dependent variable was represented by the number of pneumonia cases, while the independent variable will be examined retrospectively to find out whether there was some influence on pneumonia incidences or not. The population under study consisted of 30 resondents meeting the criteria of children under five years old with pneumonia. Parents agreement tat their children will be examined were pursued. The study discovered that Chi Square test performed at α=0,05 has resulted in an x² value of = 5,487, while the x² from the table was = 3,481. It was obvious that, calculated x²> table x². This means that there is a relation between nutrient statuses and pneumonia incidences, for a reason that children nutritional status will contribute to the body defense system against infections like pneumonia.
