Pengetahuan Ibu Primi Gravida Tentang Perubahan Fisik pada Kehamilan Primester I
During first trimester of pregnancy mothers underwent some changes of physical nature, such as frequent urination, fatigue, weakness, nausea, hypersalivation, nose blockage sometimes followed by nose bleeding, keputihan, breast enlargement, pain, headache, ptyalism, constipation and emotional instability (Salmah, dkk, 2006). An early study at the BPS Enny Juniati Surabaya revealed that among 10 primigravida only 40% of mothers have good working knowledge regarding physical changes during pregnancy at the first trimester, which also meant that the remaining mothers (60%) lack of good working knowledge on the issue. This investigation was almed at describing the working knowledge among primigravida mothers on physical changes during pregnancy at the first trimester at BPS Eny juniati Surabaya. The study was designed as a cross sectional observation. The population under study included all pregnant mothers who have their pregnancy chacked at BPS Eny Juniati in the periode of June 2008, a total of 45 respondents, while a sample of 32 respondents were drawn by purposive sampling. The main instrument used in the study was a checklist. The study concluded that most respondents aged between 20 -35 years, majority have medium education level. About of the of the respondents lacked of good working knowledge. The study recommended that mother should have their preganacies checked and to acquire adequate knowledge on their pregnancies through reading materials and attend as many health education session held by competent health officers.
