Pengaruh Kadar Debu terhadap Kejadian Penyakit ISPA di Puskesmas Keboan Jombang Tahun 2008

Acute Upper Respiratory Infection (Penyakit infeksi saluran pernapasan akut, ISPA) remains the primary health problem in the community. Especially in the operational area of Puskesmas KebonDesa Keboan at kecamatan Ngusikan Kabupaten Jombang. The Problem accounted for 2,187 cases or 10.09% of the population. The study was aimed at understanding the impact of particulate pollution and the use of mosquitoe coil on the occurrence of acute upper respiratory infection in the operation area of Puskesmas Keboan Desa Keboan at Kecamatan Ngusikan kabupaten Jombang. The study exercised ananalytical observation in a cross sectional study, where data analyses were performed using Multiple Logistical Regression. The cpncentration of particulate matter in Desa Kebon at Kecamatan Ngusikan Kabupaten Jombang Proved to Exceed the designated requirement, that was > 0,15 mg/m³, indicated concentration of 0,09 mg/m³ to 0.66 mg/m³, and some have met the requirement that was < 0,15 mg/m³ indicated by particulate concentration of 0,047 mg/m³ to 0.13 mg/m³. The conclusion was made on the basis of the requirements set forth by Keputusan menteri Kesehatan RI Nomor 829/MENKES/SK/VII/1999, re health requirements of Residential Areas which said that Particulate concentration should not exceed 0.15 mg/m³. Logistical regression discovered that there was a relationship between particulate concentration and the occurrence of acute upper respiratory infection. The study recommends the provision of health education sessions to the community, especially on how to make surrounding healthier especially in relation to the prevention and mitigation of acute upper respiratory infections, i.e. particulate concentration in homes, such as PHBS education sessions, and to establish surveillance scheme against acute upper respiratory infections.
