Faktor Transisi dari Daerah Endemis Demam Berdarah menjadi Endemis Demam Chikungunya di kabupaten Magetan

Chicungunya fever is caused by Chikungunya virus (cHIKKV) of the genus Alphavirus, in the family of Togaviridae, transmittable from primate to human by Aedes Aegypti mosquitoes. This is a self limiting disease, seldom reported but may cause death, and has a clinical similarty to dengue fever. This study was aimed at discoverting factors that may have some influence on the transition of epidemiological features where dengue fever endemic areas were transformed into Chikungunya fever endemic areas. The study employed survey methodology in Magetan area. The study discovered that humidity, temperature, wind velocity, rainfall, density of Aedes aegypti larvae were suspected as the cause of changing disease pettern, especially in the village of Simbatan.
