Hubungan Lama Pemberian Makanan Tambahan dengan Peningkatan Berat Badan Bayi dan Anak Balita di Puskesmas eurahan Meruya Utara Kecamatan Kembangan Jakarta Barat 26 November - 10 Desember 2008
During January-Desember 2007in Meruya Utara Subdistric Public Health Centre there were 19.8% of undernourished cases among infants and children under 5 years of age. Among them 33% did not experience a weight increase even after supplement because the number of malnourished cases exceeded the amount of food supplement available. Thus the duration of supplementary feeding given was not optimal. Te study was conducted to determine the association between duration of supplementary feeding and weight increase among undernourished infants and children undernourished infants and children under 5 years of age. This observational analytic case control study of 258 subjects. Each group case and control used consecutive non-random sampling and were collected within 2 weeks from 26 november-10 December 2008 consisted 129 subjects. Data were obtained through interview, looking through medical records, and direct measurement. The variable of duration of supplementary feeding was obtained using questionnaires whilst the variable of weight increase was obtained using dacin and uniscale. Findings from the research showed that 116 subjects (45,74%) only managed to get supplementary feeding for ≤ 1 month and 140 subjects (54.26%) who managed to get supplementary feeding for >1mpnth. Among 129 cases who did not experience weight increase, 62 subjects (48.06%) got supplementary feeding for ≤1month whist 56 (43.42%) out of 129 controls who experienced weight increase, got supplementary feeding for≤1 nonth. Although in this study a weak association (OR=1.21) was found between duration of supplementary feeding and weight increase among undernourished/malnourished infants and children under 5 years of age, yet if was not statistically significant (0.30
