The Advantages of Tramadol in Labor Pain Therapy (Manfaat Pemberian Tramadol pada Nyeri Persalinan)

Labor pain has psychological effect and influences the delivery process and the newborn baby. Adequate use of analgesic are very important in modern obstetrics. This research was conducted as a randomized clinical trial to compare effect of tramadol and placebo for pain relief in labor. There are sixty eligible samples divided into two groups (each thirty patients), respectively case and control group. The case group were given 100 mg tramadol intramuscular verbal scale values after administering the medicine, 10, 20, 30, 45, 60 minutes later. Total value scale of pain was 1.34 for tramadol and 0.22 for placebo at first hour. Tramadol significantly reduced pain without side effects (Kruskal-Wallis, p=0.00).
