Studi Pengetahuan dan Perilaku Masyarakat terhadap Peranan Mamalia Kecil dalam Penularan Beberapa Zoonosis di Tamalabba Mampu, Ujung Tanah Makasar and Tiban Lama, Batam (Knowledge and Practice Study on the Contribution of Little Mammals on Zoonotic disease Transmission in Community in the Villages of Tamalabba Mampu, Ujung Tanah, Makasar and Tiban Lama, Batam)
Since Hemorrhagic Fever Renal Syndrome (HFRS) already identified in 5 harbours in Indonesia, including Makasar and Batam, it is incessary to study whether Hantavirus existed in Makasar and Batam. In addition to the laboratory findings, study on knowledge and practice of the people is important for developing appropriate intervention program. Using structured questionnaire, the knowledge and practice study was employed towards 191 and 200 respondents in Makasar and Batam respectively. Results showed that the knowledge on zoonotic disease of Makasar people was better than that of Batam people. But with the better education level of Batam people, appropriate intervention will have promising result in the area.
