A good nutrition status in the period of infancy is an essential factor to achieve optimum growth and development. Infant feeding is one of the most important factor to have good nutrition status. A cross sectional study was conducted at Kelurahan Kayu Manis to know the knowledge and infant feeding practices by interviewing the mothers. Respondents were chosen using cluser sampling. Out 106 respondents : 73 (68.9 percent) were 20-30 years; 73 (68.9 percent) had 1-2 children, Knowledge about infant feeding were 55 (51.9 percent) low and 51 (48.1 percent) average. Infant feeding practices were good feeding were 55 (51.9 percent) low and 51 (48.1 percent) average. Infant feeding practices were good among 51 (48.1 percent) and bad among 6 (5.7). There was a significant relationship between numbers of children and the level of activity with infant feeding practices.
