Nutritional Status of Pre-elementary School Children in Tapaktuan, South Aceh (Status Gizi Anak Pra Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Tapaktuan Kabupaten Aceh Selatan, Daerah Istimewa Aceh)
A cross section study on the nutritional status of 101 children in pre-elementary school was carried out (52 boys and 49 girls). The age ranged from 5 years 1 month to 6 years 5 months old. The nutritional status was evaluated by WHO-NCHS criteria, 57.8 percent of the boys were wellnourished, 21,1 percent were post malnutrion, 21.1 percent were underfed, girls 63.3 percent were wellnourished, 32.7 percent were post malnutrion and 4.0 percent were underfed. The average weight and height in wellnourished boys were 17.6 kg and 109.0 cm, while unferfed/past malnutrition were 14.5 kg and 106.0 cm, (p less than 0.001). The average of weight and height in wellnourished girls were 17.0 kg and 108.3 dm, underfed/past malnutrition were 13.8 kg and 102.7 cm (p less than 0.001). There was no significant difference between educational level of father mother and nutrional status of children (p more than 0.05). There was a significant difference between the number of children in family and nutrional status of children (p less than 0.05).
