The Contribution of DNA's Examination on Disputed Parentage Cases (Peranan Pemeriksaan DNA pada Penanganan Kasus Paternitas)
Among the disputed parentage cases, there are some cases in which the examination of protein polymorphisms (blood groups, serum protein, erythrocyte enzymes typing and HLA antigens) and anthropological examination failed to get the conclussive results. In these cases the examination of DNA polymorphisms, such as chromosome examination, DNA fingerprint, VNTR, Amp-FLP and HLA-DQA examinations, usually can solve the problems. In the cases with the fresh samples, all of the examinations can be performed, but if the samples are in the trace amount or partially degraded, the methods with the enzymatic amplification by PCR is prefered. In this paper, the principle, method and analysis of various DNA examinations are also discussed.
