Anemia among Female Workers in One Factory at East Jakarta (Anemia pada Tenaga Kerja Wanita pada Salah Satu Perusahaan di Jakarta Timur)

Health and nutritional status of female workers (Tenaga Kerja Wanita) are factors determining the quality of human resources in our nation development. A cross sectional study was conducted at one factory in Jakarta Timur. Among 106 subjects 25 (23.5 percent) were anemic. Twelve (11.3 percent) suffered from iron deficiency anemia (IDA) and 13 (12.2 percent) were non iron deficiency anemia. Further study regarding the nutritional status among 35 subjects (10 non anemia and 25 anemia), 4 (11.4 percent) were poor, 25 (71.4 percent) were good and 6 (17.2 percent) categorized as over future, non iron deficiency should be considered in controlling anemia.
