Struma or goiter refers to enlargement of the thyroid gland, which is often visible on the anterior neck. A goiter can be very large, compressing the esophagus and interfering with swallowing or it can cause pressure on the trachea, it can also be of cosmetic concern. The surgery action of goiter is thyroidectomy can be cut of the enlargement of thyroid under the anesthesia or segmental awake analgesia. Acupuncture analgesia for pain control thyroidectomy is alternative technique involves the use of mild drugs in low dose initially for pain relief may be beneficial as well as measures that reduce fatigue and anxiety, which can aggravate pain. The thyroid gland is formed of two lobes which over the trachea in the neck. It’s principal secretor product are thyroxin and triiodo thyroxin, which regulate metabolism, primarily through induction of enzymes. These hormones act at number of sites synergistically with catecholamine in addiction, both hormones act on the pituitary gland to inhibit release of TSH, which in turn stimulates the secretion of thyroid hormones.
