Efek Anti Ulkus Eurycoma Longifolia terhadap Ulkus Lambung Tikus Anti-Ulcer Effect of Eurycoma longifolia against Gastric-ulcers in Rats

Eurycoma lonifolia (pasak Bumi) are widely found in East Kalimantan. Etnobotanically, the roots of this plant were used to decrease gastric pain and anti ulcers, but scientific evidences have not been available yet. The objective of this research was to test the anti-ulcer effect of Eurycoma longifolia against gastric ulcer in rats. Water extract of Eurycoma longifolia’s given to the rats before induced gastric ulcer. The rats were induced gastric ulcer ulcer by giving acetyl salicylic acid orally and pyloric-ligatiom. The result showed that water extract of Eurycoma longifolia’s root mucosa in rats induced gastric ulcer by acetyl salicylic acid, prevent from increase of free gastric acid in rats pyloric ligated. This research concluded that water extract of Eurycoma longifolia has anti-ulcer effect against gadtric ulcers rats induced by acetyl salicylic acid and pyloricligation.
