The Laboratory Screening in Pregnancy and its Interpretations (Penapisan Laboratorik dalam Kehamilan serta Interpretasinya)
Athough the pregnancy is regarded as phsysiologic process, however, this condition is often associated with the increasing of the mortality risk of the pregnant women. The opinion is true especially when pregnancy come within the high risk group. The laboratory test is generally accepted as one of the important supportive examination to detect various abnormalities in pregnancy which can endanger the fetal wellbeing. What kind of laboratory test rountinely provided during pregnancy are dissimilar from clinic to clinic. This variation, for instance, is influenced of test apporatus availability, prevalence of the diseases, and cost of examination. Moreover, there are some controversies over method of laboratory test, the criteria for assessment, and the patient management when there is a discongruency between the laboratory test and other supportive examinations (e.g. ultrasound). This paper was aimed to discuss some laboratory test which were often provided.
