Faktor-Faktor yang Berpengaruh terhadap Timbulnya Gangguan Jiwa Pada Penderita Tuberkulosis Paru Dewasa di RS. Persahabatan.
Tuberculosis (TB) is one of world’s health problems. Morbidity and mortality cauced by the diseases are increasing annualy. Aspects involved in TB are individual, environmental, and baterial. It is important to consider not only one’s physical factor but also mental factor such as comprehension and perception. Furthermore, stigma and social isolation may occur and precipitate any psychopathology and thus cormorbidity of mental disorders in tuberculosis patients Qualitative method of analysis was used; begin with determining the frequency of mental disorders in pulmonary tuberulosis, followed by interview and observation of the samples that mentally disordered and that in accordance with inclusion and exclusion criteria, and the data received were analyzed by triangulation and induction method. The frequency of any mental disorders in pulmonary tuberculosis was 20%. From qualitative analysis of 12 pasients (20%) that mentally disorders,themes such as comprehension, treatment seeking behavior, psychological/perceptual mpacts, familial impacts, occupational impacts, and other stressors were obtained. Pasients comprehension to the disease was not satisfying; treatment seeking behavior include s visting public healh services and hospitals; psychological impacts include Kubler-Ross respnse, and depression as the most prevalent; financial impact includes financial difficulties; occupation impacts include occupational problems and unemployment; and other stressors that include familial, health professional and others. Patients comprehension to tuberculosis was not satisfying so thus worsen their pereption of illness and of treatment seeking behavior. Their false perception will result in behavioral changes and social consequences like-self-withdrawal, and together with stigma, any stressors and other psychosocial factors will precipitate mental disorders.
