Aktivasi Komplemen pada Jejas Mekanis Pengobatan Tradisional Kerokan (Complement Activation in Mechanical Skin Injury in Kerokan Therapy)
Javaesne people have traditional therapy called kerokan. This therarpy is applied by rubbing a blunt object repeatedly on the skin of back, neck, and chest lubricated wih oil. This action injured skin and caused inflammation Complement is major chemical mediator in inflmmation reaction. Here are two complement activation pathways, classic pathway is C1q binding with anti-body and alternative pathway is C3 binding with polysacharide bacteria. The aim of this research is to determine complement activation pathway in mechanical skin injury in Kerokan therapy; the special aim is to measure C1 q and C3 level.. This is an experimental resarch with randomized pre test-post test control group design. The resarch was done at Padma Clinic, Solo. Sample consists of 38 patients and wer divided into two groups: 19 patients were in the treatment group and the rest (19 patients) were in the control group. This resarch used Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, t parametric test and Mann Whiteney nonparametric test, at the significant level of %. There is no Significant difference on C1q and C3 level between treatment group and control group.
