Dermatophytoses Management (Penatalaksanaan Dermatofitosis)
Dermatofitosis is a group of caused by Mycosporon, Trichophyton, and Epidermophyton infections. Their clinical manifestations included tinea capitis, tinea corporis, tinea cruris, tinea pedis, and tinea unguium. The incidence is considerably high regarding that about 40 percent of patients visiting the Mycology Clinic at the Department of Dermatology RSCM; Jakarta, are suffering from the diseases. The management of choice is either azol, alylamine, cyclopyroxalmine, naphtitine, terbinafin, haloprogen, undecilinic acid, or tolnaphtate derivative topical preparations. The is also considered effective and it has keratolytic action in addition. Sistemic drug is taken into consideration when the topical approach doesn't work by using griseofulvin, ketokonazol, itrakonazol, flukonazol, and terbinafin derivative oral preparations. Predisposing such as diabetes, corticosteroid and sitostatic therapy, immunocompromized state, environmental condition, and the patient's habits, should also be taken into account for successful therapy. The diagnosis and therapy should always be confirmed by both clinical and laboratory measurements.
