Pengaruh Pendidikan Kesehatan Tentang Cara Menyusui terhadap Perilaku Meyusui pada Ibu Post Partum

Breast feeding is good for babies’ healthy growth and development. Breast feeding includes knowledge, attitude and practice in breast milk to babies. Mothers’ at first week post delivery face many problems. Among other things was how to correctly give breast feeding. Brief observation at RSI Siti Hajar hospital discovered that only 33% of post delivery mothers who could perform breast feeding, while under the jurisdiction of Dinkes Sidoarjo there were 82% of breast feeding mothers. The WHO noted that there is a reduction of breast feeding practices, and in the US breast feeding was only perform by 44%. The study aimed for analyzing the impact of providing education on proper breast feeding on observed breast feeding practice among post delivery mothers at the maternity ward of RSI Siti Hajar hospital, Sidoarjo. The population under study was post delivery mothers at the maternity ward of RSI Siti Hajar hospital, Sidoarjo. Samples were drawn using simple random sampling technique, resulting in a sample size of 23 individuals. The study conclude that there was an impact induced by provision of education on observed breast feeding practice among post delivery mothers. The study recommended provision education on proper breast feeding to be delivered by nurses at hospitals, health centers or clinics as direct teaching and demonstration, distribution of leaflets.
