Efek dari Rebusan Daun Tembakau Kering terhadap Blood Platelet Count dan Prothrombin Time pada Strain Wistar Tikus Putih (Rattus Norvegicus) (Effect Dry Tobacco Leaf Boiled on Bllod Platelet Count and Prothrombin Time in Wistar Strain White rats (Rattus Norvegicus)
Nicotin that presents in dry tobacco leaf is also able to mobilize compartment platelet through symphatetic activity that result in the increase of blood platelet count (thrombocytosis). The objective of this study was to prove the effect of nicotine in dry tobacco leaf on blood platelet count and prothrombin time. This study used separate sample pretest-posttest control group design, involving male Wistar strain Rattus norvegicus aged of 3-3.5 months. The independent variable was dry tobacco leaf boiled (0.6 ml/200 mg rats BW) and the dependent variables were blood platelet count (/µl) and prothrombin time (second). Pretest data were taken from control group and posttest data were dry tobacco leaf boiled for 5 days. The results showed that in dependent variable of blood platelet count boiled (p:0.000). In the variable of prothrombin time, there was no difference between control group and group receiving dry tobacco leaf boiled (p: 0.200). The result indicated that the provision of dry tobacco leaf boiled was able to incease blood count and did not increase prothrombin time.
