Daya Mukoadhesi dan Pelepasan Obat in Vitro Tablet Vaginal Mukoadhesif Metronidazol Menggunakan Polimer Carbopol 940

Mucoadhesive sustained release metronidazole vaginal tables containing Carbopol 940 had been studied. Tables were prepared weighing 200 mg. The drug-polymer ratio was 1:4. Granules were prepared by dry granulation method. Slug were passed through ASTM 20 mesh and evaluated for moisture content, particle size distribution, compressibility, flow ability and drug content. The tables were compressed using a hydraulic press at 1 ton compression force for 3 second. In vitro studies for drug release and mucoadhesion property. Results of the release study for 12 jam showed 97,83±0,46% and 95,63±0,64% (batch 2). Results of mucoahesion properties exhibited 33,20±6,03g (batch 1) and 34,80±9,60 g (batch)
