Potensi Capping Phenomena dalam Analisis Asosiasi HLA dengan Diabetes Mellitus Tipe 2 Potential Value of Capping Phenomena Tipe 2 (Potential Value of Capping Phenomena of HLA Analysis Assosiated with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus)
The aim of this study was to investigate for establishment the basic concept of the association between Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) as immune genetic marker and Type 2 diabetes Mellitus (DM) in Indonesia population. There is strong genetic susceptibility to type 1 DM (Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus) associated with genes Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) locus. In contrast the study about the axistence of the association between between HLA and type 2 DM (Non Insulin Diabetes Mellitus) is still limited and supposed that the capping phenomena may supposed that the capping phenomena may supported as theoretical concept. These study explore 70 type 2 Dm patients with 108 healthy individual as control. The HLA examination based on microlymphocytotoxicty test and the result calculated in order to know the relativerisk and attributable risk. It showed that association HLA17 (RR 3.5) have signicant associated with Type 2 DM and suggested that HLA/MHC class 1 molecules may interfere with interaction between ligants and recepfors insulin in the cell memberance of the target cells. It might be caused by the plasticly structure of HLA class 1 molecules.
