Promosi Kesehatan Melalui Penumbuh Kembang Polides Bagi Masyarakat Miskin di Denpasar Analisis Situasi dalam Rangka Making Pregnancy Safer

The health promotion of the community especially for the poor community in villages was absolutely needed in National
Movement of Making Pregnancy Safer. The objective of this study was the health promotion through the development
of polindes for the poor community in villages in the framework of making pregnancy safer. This study was 'descriptive-
explorative', location by East Java and East Lesser Sundas (NTT) province. The samples were selected purposively,
here are Kupang Regency and Middle-South Timor (TTS) and Ponorogo Regency. Two poor sub district are selected
from each regency and from each sub district ten or less village delivery house (polindes) were selected. Data collection
vas conducted structured interview, and FGD. The unit of analysis in this research was polindes and the analysis was
conducted descriptively. The results shows that most of the polindes manpower were village midwifes. The condition of
the facility was clean but the equipment was not sufficient and the polindes was not every midwife kit. The drug in polindes
has not met the standard, and most or all of the polindes expenses become the responsibility of the government and the
utilization priority does not balance. Many people said polindes as village clinic center yet some have already known the
real function of polindes. The viI/age midwifes were considered as competent but most of the patients in polindes were
free from any fee, and if they have to pay, the fee was very cheap.
