The Determination of Filasiasis bancrofti Vector in Tanjung Bunga, East Flores (Penentuan Vektor Filariasis bancrofti di Kecamatan Tanjung Bunga, Flores Timur)

A study on entomology has been conducted in 5 villages which were located in Teluk Hading, Tanjung Bunga Subdistrict, East Flores, NTT. This study showed that the suspected filaria W. bancrofti vector in these area were Anopheles aconitus, An. barbirostris, An. maculatus, An. sundaicus, An. subpictus, Cx. quinquefasciatus, Cx. fuscocephalus, Cx. bitaeniorhynchus, Cx. tritaeniorhynchus, and Cx. vishnui. Only 3 species of Anopheles confirmed as W. bancroftivector i.e. An. sundaicus An. subpictus and An. flavirostris with natural infection rate percentage of 0.93 percent, 0.13-0.4 percent and 1.42 percent respectively. There were more than one species of Anopheles that can act as filaria vector in each village in Tanjung Bunga.
