Evaluasi Efek Terapeutik terhadap Berat dan Lama ISPA Serta Status Giziz Anak Balita Evaluation of Therapeutical Effect On Severity And Duaration Of Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ART) and Nutritional Status of Children Under Five Years Old)
The objective of the study is to investigate the therapeutical effect on severity and duration of acute respiratory tract infection (Art)I) and durational status of children under five years old. The evaluation analytical design of the study was conducted by visiting samples of houses on the fourth and the ninth day after therapy was given. Total numbers of samples were 50 children under five years old, selected by accidental non- random sampling. The data were analyzed using Wicoxn sign ranks test and paired-test. Findings of study showed that upon the first diagnosis ARTI severity, it was found that 17% samples had an average duration of ARTI of 3 days, 84 % had severe ARTI whist 16% had mild ARTI. Based on nutritional status (weight/age=WA), 8% had severe malnutrition, 16% had mild ARTI. Based on nutritional status (weight/age=W/A), 8% had severe malnutrition, 16% were undernourished, but 76% were well nourished. On the fourth day after therapy,66% samples had a average duration of ARTI of 6 days, 52% had severe ARTI, 32% had mild ARTI and 16% were healed.Meanwhile, 6% had severe malnutrition, 20% undernourished and 74% well nourished. On the ninth day after therapy, 56% samples had an average duration of 6 days, 20% had severe ARTI, 34% had mild ARTI and 46% were healed. Six percent had severe malnutrition, 18% undernounrished, 76% well nourished. Paired t-test and Wilcoxon test, showed that there was significant therapeutical effect on duration and severity of ARTI (p=0,000 and p=0,004 respectively), but had significant effect on nutrition status based on paired t-test (p=0,748). Thus it was concluded that therapy of ARTI produced a significant effect of reducing the duration and severity of ARTI, wheareas nutritional status did not have the same significant effect.
