Rat Wistar as a Laboratory Animal on Tetanus Toxoid Research (Tikus Wistar sebagai Hewan Coba untuk Penelitian dengan Toksoid Tetanus)

A study was done in order to find sensitivity and optimal dose of tetanus vaccination for Wistar Rats. The study included in true experimental, the design was the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. Sample of twenty five Wistar rats were devided into five groups. (each group consisted of five Wistar Rats) i.e. one group for control and four groups for treated groups. The treated group were injected by 'Vaccinum tetan' twice in one month interval. Each groups were given with 1/10, 1/20. 1/40 and 1/60 single human dose (shd). The study found that (1) Wistar Rat can be used as sample of tetanus vaccination study. (2) The 1/40 single human dose was the optimal dose.
