Artificial Sweeteners on Food and Beverage (Pemanis Buatan dalam Makanan-Minuman)
Artificial sweeteners are food addictives which do not have nutrition value and are usually added to give a sweet taste to food or drinks. The use of artificial with the progress of food and drink productions. However, the dangerrous effects of their exessive use are not widely understood because of the lack of information given to the consumers. There are two types of sweeteners, (i) nutritive sweeteners which generates calories and (ii) non-nutritive which do not generates calories. It was reported that the excessive use of sweetteners may promote cancer especially bladder carcinoma due to the destruction of DNA.
